A Consultation with Alan Roxburgh and Mark Lau Branson August 13-14, 2010 Community Presbyterian Church, Danville, CA
- Alan Roxburgh - Practicing Hospitality as a Way to Enter Your Neighborhood
This workshop will look at the ancient, and mostly forgotten, practice of hospitality. What does it mean to welcome the stranger into your home? What does this entail? Why is it so important? How do we do it and how can it unleash new missional possibilities? This is a workshop about adaptive change.
- Mark Lau Branson - Dwelling in the Word/Communal Spiritual Practices
There has been renewed interest in recent years about spiritual disciplines. While helpful, many of these have still been presented through the American lens of individualism. We still need help to develop these practices within the community of believers. This workshop will discuss ways to do this together and the doors they open for our missional transformation. This workshop is about adaptive change.
- Gospel Truth and Prevailing Prayer
There are several pitfalls when it comes to motivating people for missional living. Protect against problems like self-righteousness and burn-out by making the gospel and prevailing prayer central.
- Pastor Ben Joyce, Community Presbyterian Church
