Baptism at Peachtree

Baptism is one of the most significant parts of our worship. Here at Peachtree, we baptize both adults and children. In both types of baptism, God is at work in the lives of the one being baptized.

Adult Baptism
When an adult is baptized, they are making a profession of faith claiming that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior of their life. Baptism is just the beginning of a person’s faith journey. Peachtree walks alongside people who make this significant step in their life – helping them grow as followers of Christ. If you are interested in knowing more about Jesus Christ or would like to be baptized, please contact Dr. Chuck Roberts, Associate Pastor, Evangelism and Discipleship at or at 404-842-5883

Infant Baptism
When a child is baptized, the parents make a profession of faith on behalf of their child. As the parents claim that Jesus is their Lord and Savior, they also make commitments to raise their child to know Jesus Christ. In baptism, a child becomes a part of the church family but they must one day, make their own decision to follow Jesus Christ. To learn more about the theology of infant baptism, click here. This decision often takes place in the elementary or middle school years. Many of our children confirm their parents desire when they go through the confirmation process, usually after their 8th grade year. Peachtree walks alongside families as they teach their children about faith and a relationship with Jesus Christ. Peachtree also provides age appropriate and dynamic programs for children(link to children’s ministry) and students (link to student ministry) as well as small group leaders who mentor young people as they grow in their faith.

If you would like to have your child baptized, we invite you to choose a Sunday and complete the information on line. If you prefer, you may also contact Melissa Snipes at or at 404-842-2170 to choose a time or to get more information.

In order to have a child baptized at Peachtree, at least one parent must be an active member of Peachtree. In addition, all parents are required to attend a baptism class that gives vital information about the theology of baptism as well as the details for the baptism day.

Once you have chosen your date and filled out the information, you will receive a confirmation phone call from Melissa. We look forward to being a part of this significant event with your family.

As you prepare to baptize your child with water, consider sponsoring a shallow water well in your child’s name. Through Marion Medical Mission, you can provide safe, clean drinking water for an entire village in Africa. Each shallow well provides safe drinking water for approximately 100 to 300 people and costs $350. Click here to download the pledge card for more informtaion.
