Deborah Ashendorf has previously served as an Elder at
Peachtree. She was a member of Peachtree from 1982 until 1999.
She and her husband, Bruce, moved their membership back to
Peachtree two years ago. Deborah currently serves as a Shepherd
captain, as a member of the Sacraments Committee, and as a
committee member for The Gift Goes On. Deborah and Bruce
have two children, Taylor (21) and Anne (20).

Jean Bell has been a member of Peachtree since 1993. She and
her husband, Vic, have been active participants in the Seekers
Sunday School Class and have served as officers. Jean is a member
of Presbyterian Women and the Church and Community Circle,
which she has served as Chairman. Jean has also been a member of
the Wedding Guild and served as Co-chairman of the first The Gift
Goes On. She has participated in several Bible studies; currently she
and Vic are members of a small group of six couples which formed
during the church’s study of The Purpose Driven Life. Jean will be
participating in the church’s mission trip to China.

Warren Berry grew up in College Park, Georgia, where he sang in
the choir and served as a deacon at his church. During the banking
career from which he is now retired, he lived in Milledgeville and
Macon. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Churches of both,
singing in the choir at the latter. In 1978 he was transferred back to
Atlanta and joined Peachtree. He became a committee chairman of
the Every Member Canvas Campaign and a Vice-President of the
Agape Sunday School Class and is now serving as an usher. Warren
is married to Nancy, who has served in the church library and as
Vice-President of the Agape Sunday School Class and is presently on
a mission trip with Warren to the Holy Land and Egypt.

Mary Dye is a native of Atlanta. She retired from BellSouth in
2000 after 27 years in the telecommunications industry. Mary
and her husband, Mercer, have been members of Peachtree since
1977. Mary is a member of the Heritage Sunday School class and
the Bible Leader of the Good News Circle. She also serves as a
Board Member of Zoo Atlanta.

James Garvie has been a member of Peachtree since the spring
of 2003. Prior to 2003, James was a member of the Church of
Scotland. Born and raised in Perth, Scotland, James has resided
in the United States for the past 13 years and has called Atlanta
home for the last 8 years. He is a management consultant for a
national firm specializing in go-to-market strategies and sales
compensation for large multi-national corporations. James has
served Peachtree through KidJam, Sunday School leadership, and
Young Adult leadership.

Taylor Glover was born and raised in Newnan, Georgia, where
he and his family belonged to Central Baptist Church. Taylor and
his wife, Shearon, have been members of Peachtree since 1976.
They are both former Sunday School teachers and past co-chairs
of the annual pledge drive. In addition, Taylor has served several
terms as an Elder. Their two sons, Frank and Chris, were baptized
at Peachtree and grew up as active members. Taylor currently serves
on the Board of Trustees for Davidson College, son Frank’s alma
mater. Previous affiliations include the Boards of Trustees for The
Westminster Schools and Presbyterian College as well as Chairman
of the Investment Committee for Columbia Seminary. He retired
after 30 years as Senior Vice-President of the Private Client Group
of Merrill Lynch in March, 2002, and currently serves as President
and Chief Executive Officer of Turner Enterprises, Inc.

Kevin Hermetz has been a member of Peachtree since 1997 and
currently serves as President of the Bread Breakers Sunday School
class. A native of Gulfport, Mississippi, Kevin moved to Atlanta
in 1990 after graduating from the University of Mississippi, where
he met his wife, Christina. They were married at Peachtree, where
Christina has been a member since 1981. They have 11-yearold
twin sons, Kell and Martin. Kevin works as a Senior Vice-
President at Ackerman & Co., a commercial real estate firm.

Ed Holland is Executive Vice-President and General Counsel at
Southern Company. He and his wife, Betsy, have been members
of Peachtree for almost two years. Prior to moving to Atlanta, Ed
was President and CEO of Savannah Electric from 1997-2001.
From 1992-1997, Ed was Vice-President of Generation and
Transmission and General Counsel at Gulf Power in Pensacola,
Florida. In Pensacola and Savannah, Ed was active in leadership
positions in his church. Ed serves on the boards of the Georgia
Appleseed Foundation and the Georgia Aquarium. He is
Chairman-elect of the Edison Electric Institute Legal Committee
and serves on the board of the ABA Utility Committee. Ed and
Betsy have two children, Laura, in law school at the University of
Virginia, and Caroline, a senior at Vanderbilt.

Eben Hollingsworth (along with his wife, Mary Anne, and
daughters, Eleanor and Caroline) has been a member of Peachtree
since 1991. Additionally, Eben and Mary Anne were members of
Peachtree during a newlywed stint in Atlanta in 1984-1985. Eben
has been President of Faithmates and a member of the Christian
Education Committee and was first ordained as an Elder in 2000.
Eben began serving on the Personnel Committee in 2003 and has
been Chair since 2004.

Hyland Justice and her husband, Hal, have been members of
Peachtree since 1981. They have three children: Ashley, 24;
Calder, 22; and Libby, 19. Hyland has been actively involved with
the leadership of WCBS, a women’s Bible study that has been
meeting weekly at Peachtree for the past 16 years. She has served
as Bible study coordinator, was a group leader for 10 years, and
has been on the Advisory Board for the past 12 years. Outside of
her family, WCBS has been her greatest joy and greatest blessing.
Hyland has served as a Stephen Minister and Sunday School
teacher in addition to being an active volunteer at her children’s
schools and in the community. Most recently, Hyland helped
with the taping, writing, and publication of Backyard Blessings by
Martha Wilson Jones. In addition, she helped with the editing of
Nancy McGuirk’s book The Rest of Your Life.

Richard C. Parker has been a member of Peachtree for 22 years.
At Peachtree Richard serves on the Benevolence Committee.
He is a graduate of The Westminster Schools and Hampden-
Sydney College and serves as President of Comanche Investment
Company, LLC. Richard serves as a Trustee for Hampden-
Sydney College, The Westminster Schools, the Fraser–Parker
Foundation, and the Lewis H. Beck Foundation, and serves
as Chairman of the Executive Committee of the George West
Mental Health Foundation. He has been a member of the Emory
University Board of Visitors and a Trustee of the Trinity School.
He and his wife, Karen, have three children: Richard, Jr. (20),
Laura (18), and Fraser (13).

Brooke Pendleton has been a member of Peachtree since 1984.
She has previously served as an Elder and currently serves on
the Personnel Committee. Brooke practiced law in Atlanta for
sixteen years and has worked on many of the church’s property
matters. She currently serves on the Board of CHRIS Kids.
Brooke is married to Bill Pendleton, and they have two daughters,
Elizabeth (23) and Corbin (19).

Mitch Purvis has been a member of Peachtree since 1984.
A business attorney and partner at Parker, Hudson, Rainer
& Dobbs, LLP, he graduated from Davidson College and
Vanderbilt Law School. Mitch is also a member of the board
of the Peachtree Presbyterian Counseling Center and is actively
involved in the Men’s Forum and Credence Sunday School Class.
He will be serving his second term on the Session. Mitch is
married to Dixie Purvis, and they have three sons, Anderson (and
daughter-in-law, Brandi), Rob, and Jake.

Keene L. Reese has been a member of Peachtree for two and a half
years. He served on the Purpose Campaign Planning Committee
last year and is a member of the Heritage Sunday School Class. In a
previous church, Keene served as a Stephen Minister, co-facilitated a
Disciple I Bible study, and completed Disciple I and II as a student.
He currently serves on the board of Adopt-a-Grandparent, part
of FCS Urban Ministries. Keene recently completed The Masters
Program, a Christian curriculum with emphasis on significance as
well as success in the marketplace, community, home, and church.
He is employed by The Staubach Company, a commercial real estate
firm, where he serves as Vice-President of Corporate Services. He
and his wife, Chrissy, who have been married for 36 years, have two
children, Shannan and Keene, Jr., and are proud grandparents of
Keene Littleton Reese III.

Mack Secord is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. He and his
wife, Lorie, have been members of Peachtree for 31 years. A
University of Alabama graduate with a Master’s degree from the
University of Southern California, Mack was a 22-year career
officer and pilot with the U. S. Air Force. Following his retirement
from military service, he had a 20-year career in the electric utility
industry, where he served as Vice-President, Public Relations, for
the Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia. He is Chairman of
the Peachtree Counseling Center board, volunteers at the Food
Bank, flies missions for Angel Flight of Georgia, and works at
the USO at Hartsfield International Airport. Lorie and Mack are
both members of the Agape Sunday School Class, and both have
previously served as Elders at Peachtree. They are the parents of
one daughter, Susan Marion, of Chester S.C, and grandparents of
three, ages 19, 14, and 9.

Shay English Stafford and her husband, Connell, have been
members of Peachtree since 1977. They are parents of two
daughters, Ali and Jenna. Shay is a native of Hendersonville,
NC. Through the years, she has been involved in numerous
areas of the life of the Peachtree Church, including serving on
the Session for several terms. Most recently she has chaired the
Committee on Ministries of the Congregation and Committee
on Preparation for Ministry. She also served on the Pastor
Nominating Committee when Dr. Pentz was called to become
the Senior Pastor. In addition to her service at Holy Innocents’
Episcopal School, she has served on the Board of Trustees of
Covenant House Georgia and Brenau University as well as the
Advisory Board of Hands On Atlanta.

Wendy Stewart has been a member of Peachtree since 1995. She
and her husband, Carey, were married at Peachtree 10 years ago.
They have two daughters, Lily(4) and Piper (2). Wendy has been
involved in her Sunday School class, The Commitments, and has
served in several capacities over the last seven years. She has also
been involved in various Children’s Ministries and is currently
serving as Co-chair for Vacation Bible School. Wendy has led
several Bible studies over the last three years. She has her own
business, SOS Reading Approach, which provides free tutoring
through No Child Left Behind to elementary students who are
struggling readers. Wendy enjoys reading, traveling, going for
walks, and cooking.

Will Wray has been a member of Peachtree since 1973. While
growing up at Peachtree, Will was active in the youth group and
choir. He has served on the Community Concerns committee,
as President of the Bread Breakers Sunday School Class, and
as a preschool Sunday School teacher. Will is currently on the
board of the Peachtree Counseling Center and is active in the
Men’s Forum. He also enjoys playing piano for the residents of
Calvin Court and serving on Peachtree’s Shepherd staff. Will is a
dermatologist. He and his wife, Tiffany, have two young children,
Kate and George.

Nancy Young is married to Richard Young and has been a
member of Peachtree Presbyterian since 1990. She is originally
from Atlanta and was raised in the Church of Saint Andrew in
Sandy Springs. She and Richard have four children: Caroline,
Collin, Ryan, and Lainey. Nancy has been a children’s Sunday
School teacher and more recently has enjoyed being a story-teller
for large group at KidJam. She has also enjoyed being involved in
Vacation Bible School for many years. Nancy is an active member
and former officer of Partners in Faith Sunday School Class.
