Lynn Barry, a native of New
York and a graduate of the University of Delaware, joined
Peachtree with her husband Tom in 1980. She has three
sons, all baptized at Peachtree: David, a Master of
Divinity student at Fuller Theological Seminary in
Pasadena, CA; Christopher, recently married and a graduate
student in Choral Conducting at the University of Georgia;
and Andrew, a Communications major at Berry College. Lynn
served previously on Session as Chair of the Music
Committee; has been active in the music program at
Peachtree as Preschool music teacher, co-leader of the
Kindergarten and 1st Grade choir, Youth Choir Tour
advisor, member of the Chancel Bells; and is currently
active in the Westminster Bells and Chancel Choir, where
she has served as President. She has also served as
President of the Celebration Sunday School class. She is a
full-time AP Calculus teacher at Wheeler High School in
Cobb County where she was selected as Teacher of the Year
and STAR teacher for 2006-2007.

Bill Bassett has been a
member of Peachtree for over 30 years. He was ordained an
elder in 1996 and has served one previous term. Bill and
his wife Dorothy have three grown children and five
grandchildren. He received an engineering degree from
Auburn University and a law degree from Emory University.
He is currently a practicing attorney in his own firm.
Bill has been a teacher in the adult Sunday School program
at Peachtree for the past 15 years. He is an active member
of the Seekers Sunday School Class.

Jeffrey Baxter has been a member of Peachtree since
1984. A graduate of Dartmouth College and Boston
University School of Law, Jeffrey specializes in health
care law as a partner with Nelson Mullins Riley &
Scarborough. This will be his second term on the Session.
He is a member of the Credence Class, and has served as
its president. Currently active in Men’s Forum and the
Greeter Ministry, Jeffrey has also co-chaired the Annual
Stewardship Campaign and served as the Chair of the
Peachtree Preschool Board. He is married to Gaylen Baxter,
and they have three daughters: Charlotte, Allie and
Jordan.

Sandra Bomar was born and raised in Ocala, Florida.
She attended Florida State University and married Steve H.
Bomar, Jr., in 1959. They have two daughters and eight
grandchildren. For the past 47 years, she has been devoted
to marriage, family and volunteer work.. She served as
president of the Atlanta Alumni Chapter of Delta Zeta
Sorority, co-president of the Sarah R. Smith Elementary
School PTA, homeroom mother, and Brownie Scout troop
leader. Sandra joined Peachtree Presbyterian in 1963 and
served as a deacon in the Class of 1983. She was chairman
of the Fellowship and Hospitality Committees. She also has
served on the Pastoral Care, Commitment, and Archives and
History Committees. She is a member of the Martha Wilson
Bible Class and is a Life Member of Presbyterian Women.

Jon Chasteen is a native of Athens, Georgia, and a
graduate of the University of Georgia. He was raised as a
member of Tuckston United Methodist Church in Athens. Jon
and his wife, Trenton, have been members of Peachtree
since 2005 and are founding member of the Proclaimers
Class for young married and engaged couples in their 20s
and early 30s. They are currently serving as inaugural
co-Presidents of the Proclaimers Class. Additionally, Jon
leads a men’s Bible study that meets at Peachtree on
Tuesday mornings. Presently, he is as an Assistant Vice
President of Willis in Atlanta, Georgia.

Rob Claxton has been a member of Peachtree for
nearly 10 years, serving as a Stephen Minister for the
last year and a half. Along with his wife Leslie, he is a
co-founder of the Commitments Sunday School class. He and
Leslie were married at Peachtree in 1998, and they have
two daughters, Laura (4) and Ellen (3), and remain active
in the Commitments and in The Pond. Rob is a native of
Atlanta who spent part of his youth in the Rocky Mountains
around Salt Lake City, Utah, before returning home to
attend the University of Georgia, from which he graduated
with a degree in English in 1991. After a four year stint
in Macon, GA, he returned to Atlanta. He is currently
employed by Office Media Network as Director of Market
Development for Atlanta.

Paul Cropley and his wife Sheila have been members
of Peachtree since 1982. They served as co-Presidents of
the Celebration Sunday School Class and chaired the recent
World Vision Child Sponsorship Drive. Paul was ordained an
Elder in 1989 and has been a member of the Community
Concerns Committee and the Global Missions Committee. He
served on the Atlanta Board of Habitat for Humanity and in
1988 worked on Peachtree’s first Habitat house. He has
twice been to Malawi on mission trips and is planning to
participate in the church’s trip to China this fall. Paul,
a Charlotte native, lives in Roswell and has two grown
daughters, Lindsay Wachter and Megan Cropley. A graduate
of The American University, Paul works in the Private Bank
of Regions Morgan Keegan.

James W. Cross Jr., has been a member of Peachtree
since December, 2005. He and his wife Teresa were led to
Peachtree after the death of their son, Mark Anthony
Cross, an Atlanta Police Officer who was killed in the
line of duty on April 23, 2005. He and Teresa have five
children: Mark, Rick, Eric, Mikelle, and Bradley. He has
served on the HEROES Committee and is a member of the
Heritage Sunday School class. James retired last year
after 22 years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation
and is currently with AmericasMart where he serves as Vice
President of Security.

Jo Ditzel joined Peachtree in 1980 with her
husband, Jim. They have two children: Meredith (27) and
Drew (24). She is a nutritionist and is completing her PhD
in Holistic Nutrition. Her involvement at Peachtree began
in children’s ministry teaching Sunday school and
coordinating the food for Vacation Bible School. She has
served on the Community Ministry committee as liaison to
The Open Door Community and the Northside Shepherd Center.
Jo currently is a member of the Global Ministry team where
she has been a part of the Global Christmas Market and
Peachtree’s partnerships in Cuba and China. She and Jim
are members of the Celebration Sunday school class.

Josh Figaretti has been a member of Peachtree since
2001, and enjoys teaching adult Sunday School Classes and
participating in small group Bible studies. In 2002, he
and his wife helped launch the Outfitters Sunday School
Class and served as its first presidents. Josh received
his bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech and his MBA from
Georgia State University. He currently leads the
Enterprise Architecture team in Chick-fil-A’s IT
department. Josh and his wife Beth (a lifelong Peachtree
member) reside in Smyrna, GA with their three children,
Sarah, Thomas and Anna.

Richard French joined Peachtree in 2002. He is
currently employed by Interface, where he serves as the
Vice President of Sales for Southern US. His involvement
at Peachtree has included teaching Sunday School and being
President of the Commitments Sunday School Class. He is
also actively involved in the Fellowship of Christian
Athletes at Auburn University. Richard, and his wife
Leanne, have two sons that can be seen in The Pond most
Sundays: Parker (5 ½) and Jonathan (2 ½).

Bill Gaston and his wife Nancy joined Peachtree in
1970. The Gastons have 3 grown children and 6
grandchildren. Two of their children live in Atlanta and
one, Anna Patton, is a member of Peachtree. Bill has
served a previous term on the Session. During his first
term he was active in Stewardship and chaired that
committee for two years. He has also been active in Global
Ministries, traveling twice to Pakistan, and in Community
Ministries, and currently serves on the Benevolence
Committee. Bill is a graduate of Presbyterian College and
has served as a trustee of that school. After an extensive
career in banking and business, Bill continues to invest
in small businesses and help them grow.

Douglas Gooding moved to Atlanta from Boca Raton in
the summer of 2003 with his wife Missy and their three
daughters, Emily, Haley and Katherine. They joined
Peachtree, as well as the Faithmates Sunday School class,
shortly thereafter. Over the past four years he has served
Peachtree on the Stewardship and Officer Nominating
Committees, as well as ushering and teaching children’s
Sunday school. Doug is a Global Equity Specialist with
INVESCO, focusing on international stocks for
institutional clients. The Goodings are originally from
Dallas, Texas, and Doug is a graduate of the University of
Texas at Austin.

Mead Grady with his wife, Joanne, joined Peachtree
in 1994. Mead has been active in the Men’s Forum since
2001. He served as a Deacon in the Meridian Heights
Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis when the Grady family
lived there. Mead has always been in the hospitality
industry and is General Manager of the Peachtree Golf
Club. He currently serves on the Georgia State University
Industry Board. The Gradys have been married for 59 years
and have two daughters, five grandchildren and one great
grandchild.

Nevelle Johnson and her husband Bob have been
members of Peachtree for over twenty years. Their
children, Ginny (24), Ben (22), and Margaret (18), were
all baptized at Peachtree. Nevelle has been active in all
phases of Children’s and Student Ministries including the
preschool, Vacation Bible School, and teaching children’s
Sunday school. Nevelle and Bob are members of the Credence
class where they have served in a number of capacities.
She is currently leading a Thursday morning women’s bible
study and is teaching adult Sunday school classes.

M.J. Kelly was born and raised in Montgomery,
Alabama, attending Memorial Presbyterian Church. She
married George Kelly in 1988 and has been a member of
Peachtree since 1993. She and George have two children,
Charlotte (14) and Mary Helen (11). M.J. spends much of
her time volunteering with her children’s schools and
sporting events. She has been involved at Peachtree as a
children’s Sunday School teacher, co-director of VBS, and
an officer in her Sunday School class, Partners in Faith.

Nancy McGuirk has been a member of Peachtree for 33
years, and has twice served on the Session (Classes of
1996 and 2002). She is the author of two books, and the
founder and lead teacher of the Women’s Community Bible
Study of Atlanta.This ministry began in 1990 when Nancy
agreed to lead one of the first Disciple classes held at
Peachtree. What began as a small group bible study has
grown into a large ministry that reaches women for all
over the Atlanta area, as well as satellite groups in
other cities. Nancy has served on the Pastor Search
Committee for Peachtree, Administrative Committee,
Evangelism Committee, Christian Education Committee, and
several others. She was also an adult Sunday School
Teacher for many years. She is currently a Trustee for
Presbyterian College, a Board Member for Ruth Graham &
Friends, and an Advisory Board Member for the Atlanta
Children’s Shelter. Nancy and her husband, Terry, have
four children.

Joy Neal has been an active member of Peachtree
Presbyterian since 1987 when she joined along with her
sister, Jane Jones. Joy married Kennard Neal in 1990, and
they have 2 children, Frances (13) and John (11). Joy has
been involved in a number of areas within the church:
Women’s Community Bible Study (WCBS), children’s Sunday
School teacher, Presbyterian Women, member of finance
committee for the 2006 Gift Goes On, hospitality greeter,
student of the Bethel series, and facilitator of a small
group that follows the sermon series. Joy has been an
active member of the FaithMates Sunday School class and
has served in a variety of leadership roles; she and her
husband are currently serving as presidents of the class.
Joy is an active volunteer with her children’s schools and
in the community. Joy, a native of Rome, Georgia, holds a
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Berry
College and a Master of Business Administration from
Mercer University.

Megan Nicholson is a life-long Presbyterian and has
been a member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church since 1994.
She was married to Randy Nicholson by Dr. Vic Pentz in
2002; the Nicholsons have two sons, Grant (4) and Bennett
(1). Megan has been a faithful member of the Bread
Breakers Sunday School class and has held leadership roles
for the past several years. She has been involved with VBS
and volunteers to help with Baptism families. Megan is a
member of the Women’s Community Bible Study (WCBS) and
will hold a leadership position this fall. She combines
raising her 2 children with following her entrepreneurial
dreams and assists her husband Randy with their fitness
and pain therapy business.

Jane Smith joined Peachtree when she and her
husband Gordon moved to Atlanta in 1978. She has a
bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a Masters in
Counseling from the University of Georgia. For many years,
she taught Sunday School and Bible School, and is a long
time member and past president of the Credence Class. As a
community volunteer, she has served as President of the
Junior League of Atlanta, and Chairman of the Board of the
Peachtree Counseling Center. She is returning to the
session, having been a past chairman of the Adult
Education committee. Jane is the mother of Fielding,
Gordon, Jr. and Kimbrell Smith Teegarden.
