Paul, the apostle, wrote: “Physical fitness has value; spiritual fitness is of unlimited value, for it holds promise for the present life and the life to come.”
1 Timothy 4:8
In another letter he wrote: “Do you not know that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
It is evident that Paul held that we are both physical and spiritual beings and that both aspects of our lives need to be strengthened. He summed his position up by saying: “Keep yourself in training for a godly life.”
1 Timothy 4:7
In keeping with these Biblical mandates, we see our mission as providing for the physical and spiritual nurturing of those who participate in our programs. We regard our Gym at Peachtree Presbyterian as an integral part of the total ministry of this church. Whether a church member or not, we want everyone who visits our gym and participates in our programs to know that their physical and spiritual needs are being cared for.
